Wondering what to wear?!

Family photoshoots are a great way to capture memories with your loved ones. However, choosing what to wear can be a bit of a challenge. You want to look your best, but you also want to make sure that your outfits coordinate well with the rest of the family. In this blog post, we will discuss some tips on what to wear to a family photoshoot.

Consider the location and season…
The first thing to consider when choosing what to wear for a family photoshoot is the location and season. If you're taking photos in a park or natural setting, you may want to choose earthy tones and natural fabrics that complement the surroundings. If you're taking photos in the fall, consider warm colors like oranges, reds, and browns. In the summer, you may want to opt for lighter fabrics and brighter colors.

Coordinate, but don't match
It's important to coordinate your outfits with the rest of your family, but you don't want to match exactly. This can look a bit cheesy in photos. Instead, choose a color palette that works well together. For example, if you're going for a neutral color palette, choose shades of beige, cream, and gray.

Choose outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident
When it comes to family photoshoots, you want to feel comfortable and confident in what you're wearing. If you're not comfortable in what you're wearing, it will show in the photos. Choose outfits that fit well and make you feel good about yourself..

Pay attention to the details
Details can make a big difference in family photos. Make sure your clothes are wrinkle-free and clean. Accessorize with jewelry or scarves to add some interest to your outfit. Avoid large logos or text on your clothes as this can be distracting in photos.

Dress for the occasion
Consider the occasion when choosing what to wear. If you're taking photos for a holiday card, you may want to dress up a bit more. If you're taking photos for a casual family album, you may want to dress more casually.

I love to browse Pinterest for inspiration for my own family photoshoots, I find colour schemes I love and get to work by browsing my own closet first. It’s easiest to dress myself first then pick one piece each per family member that will coordinate with my outfit. I don’t believe you have to spend a fortune on an outfit for photos! You can pick up some really sweet pieces for the whole family at Target and Best and Less!

In conclusion, choosing what to wear to a family photoshoot can be a bit overwhelming, but with these tips, you'll be well on your way to looking your best. Remember to coordinate your outfits, choose clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident, pay attention to the details, and dress for the occasion. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience of capturing memories with your loved ones!
